Bing Sitemaps Now Being Accepted

As of last month, Bing is accepting sitemaps in much the same manner as Google. We are now submitting or clients sitemaps to Bing to enhance site indexing by the search engines. Our current clients may rest assured we have already submitted their sitemaps, and we will add all new clients as well.

What is it? When the search engines spider your site, they don't always get everything there. This is a way of insuring they have all of your pages in their database. Sitemaps do not directly affect ranking or indexing, however, they help Search Engine Bots to find the pages which, without the sitemap, bots may not otherwise discover. If you don't have your site submitted to Google or Bing (Yahoo!) with a sitemap file, you should have it done. Google and Bing (Yahoo!) don't charge for this tool.
